Reading Afropessimism put into words what I have always felt interacting with the world.

It’s knowing consciously and unconscious that you exist, but always in antagonism to, Human civilization.

It finally speaks to the fact that we, as Black peoples’, are the markers of being non-Human.

The ruinous fear that you’re allowed to be Human, only as much as it doesn’t upset the systems of global white supremacy in which we are all forced to maintain.

I exist only, so that I may die, to preserve the illusion of civility and progress.

Yet I feel no anger, or sadness, honestly there is nothing I feel. I no longer need to try and pretend anymore that I will ever be seen Human in the eyes of others.

I am and always have been seen as a commodity to be used to an end, so that others may avoid their own destruction for a day.

How terribly childish
